To go with our mini-wedding we had a mini-honeymoon at the Shangri La hotel! Was AWESOME to be pampered, raid the minibar, and watch pay-per-view. Oh, wait, even one of the very nicest hotels in the Philippines we’re still in the Philippines so no pay-per-view. That’s just too new-fangled for here. But the pool was amazing and the food was great! The aircon was FREEZING.

Of course we had Mom and the kids come over on the second day to enjoy the pool. Scope pix below and when Youtube gets it’s shit together I’ll post the vids below the pix!

That’s right folks, I’m a married man as of 8/28/09! The wedding was not a massive event by any means, heh. We’re planning a proper ceremony in April but we both wanted one that was outdoors and the weather here in the Philippines doesn’t really allow for any certainty of sunny weather during the “rainy season”. Still my Mom was able to attend and Danny and Shey were there as our official witnesses. This went down at the Makati City Hall in a courtroom. Be sure to notice the pictures of the rice cooker in the courtroom. Classic! Also watch the vids. Pretty damn funny. I was the only one able to keep from busting out laughing. Also Danny did a hell of a job on crowd control telling off some inconsiderate assholes who walked in and started yammering at one another about where some boxes in the back needed to be moved to!

Nicole’s 7th Birthday Party

I had no idea a birthday party for a 7 year old could be so darn exhausting! This past Sunday, at the McDonald’s in Greenhills Mall Karen and I held a birthday for our youngest daughter Nicole who turned seven. Unlike the birthday parties I’m used to in the USA where parents just dropped their kids off, all the parents stayed and enjoyed the party. It was like a family reunion in that we wound up having 80 people attend! My mom, Shey, Danny, Nick, Anna, and Kat Kat (Anna’s daughter) also attended. Week 15 Baby Sonogram Vids

The baby is big enough now that we’ve gone from transvaginal ultrasounds to pelvic ultrasounds. Basically instead of Karen getting a “probe” inserted they now run a probe along the outside of her belly. The baby is now so active it’s tough to get a decent still photo so only vids this time. Also this time we brought Nizza and Nicole with us so we do have pics of that.

Tagaytay Flower Farm Trip

The Makati Garden Club (which my mom is a member of) did a trip up to Tagaytay’s Flower Farm a few months ago. As my mom is a ridonkulous horticulture buff we of course had to take her up there. I’ll give credit where credit is due. There were some truly amazing plants up there. Nice timing also as the day before I’d picked up a brand new digital camera which shoots in widescreen format. Mom’s 73rd Birthday

On July 13th my mom turned 73 years old. It was her first birthday celebrated over here in the Philippines. The day started off with the ladies from my office dropping by to give her gifts. I finished the day by taking mom and several friends out to dinner at Roadhouse which is an American style steak place here in Manila. Heh, since it was Mom’s b-day I figured she’d like some Americana Turns out I was right and she LOVED her food. Understand with my mom that’s a tricky proposition. Anyway, pics and vids below:

Ever since Karen told me she was pregnant I’ve had this song rattling around in my head. I’m a big Blind Melon fan but I couldn’t remember all the lyrics, just the chorus: “now she’s telling me she’ll have my baby”. I finally got around to listening to it and now I play it every couple of days when I get overwhelmed with what’s going on in my life. Really reminds me of what is now most important. So haven’t blogged it yet but um, btw, Karen and I are having a baby! If it’s a boy little Jacen Christopher Womack is expected to pop out on 1/27/2010. If it’s a girl, well, heh we’ve got a few months to come up with a name. So far we’re liking Madison. Only thing I don’t like about it is that I own/run MadisonAvenue.com. Heh.

Anyway, here are the sonogram photo’s going back from 6/2/09 to 7/21/09. It is TRULY amazing how fast this little one is growing! We’ve got some vids of the sonogram also where you can see the baby moving but I’ve gotta figure out how to get those off my iphone and how to compress the ones I took with my digital camera. Damn thing shoots in HD.
